This adventure along Arizona's Route 66 was a special trip on memory lane. I was sharing this experience with a friend from Lake Havasu City, Arizona and my friends from Neath, Wales.

During our stay in Flagstaff, we visited Slide Rock in Oak Creek Canyon near Sedona, Tlaquepaque, The Church of the Holy Cross (a tiny church built on a rock) and Cathedral Rock in Sedona.
On Sunday, we visited several Route 66 points of interest, including Sunset Crater and some American Indian ruins, as well, as the Little Colorado River.
Monday morning, driving all of the open Route 66 roads, stopped to take pictures at "Standing On The Corner" in Holbrook, Jack Rabbit and ending up at our next hotel "The Wigwam Motel 66." The motel's rooms are shaped like Teepees with old cars parked in front of many of them.
After checking into the motel, the winding road too us to The Petrified Forest and The Painted Desert.
Tuesday morning, we all had breakfast at a Route 66 restaurant filled with old memorabilia. It was a great visit with all of my friends along parts of the Arizona Route 66 that I had traveled many years ago as a kid during summer vacations. It was a lot of fun creating new memories that brought back the nostalgia of the past.
